About this opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and talented post-doctoral research scientist to work on cutting-edge Environmental Data Science projects. In this position, you will be part of the Envirotyping and Digitalization thrust area of the Center for AgroTechnologies and contribute to developing the next-generation smart-agriculture framework.

Specific responsibilities include:

• engaging in novel problem-driven research;
• analyzing environmental impacts on agriculture;
• identifying future challenges due to climate change and adaptation by food production systems;
• preparing high-impact publications, presenting at conferences and meetings;
• collaborating on technical proposals;
• mentoring MS and PhD students.

For consideration, the candidate should have:

• a Ph.D. in a subject area related to either Environmental Sciences (e.g., Atmospheric Sciences, Earth Sciences, Hydrology, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural Sciences, etc.) or Data Science (e.g., Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering) and having experience in data analytics [ABD candidates with outstanding records may be considered at junior RS positions];
• proficiency in a modern programming environment (python/R/Matlab/...);
• demonstrated knowledge of remote sensing;
• knowledge of online data access and web APIs;
